We left Bangkok on Sunday morning and were so glad to leave. It rained and the forecast had promised rain until today. The train right was an adventure. Very old and beat up. But they made an effort to keep it clean. Unfortunatly they first cooled it down to meat-hanging temperature. Sometime during our 5.5 hour ride it got better though. The funny thing was that they served food. A lady coming through with a trolley like on the plane. For lunch some coffee and later some pastries with coffee. And all that for 8 EUR (including the train ride, that's understood)! When we arrived in Sukhothai it was bright and sunny. Sukhothai is an old temple ruin city and a tourist must-see. We found a cute bungalow with AC and private bathroom inbetween a lush garden (mango trees, palm trees, papaya trees) in a cheap hostel.
Last night we just had dinner and walked around in the new part of the city and today we first visited the historical site and then took another 2 hour bike ride. Now we are beat and tired. We are sorry if some of the pictures are chronologically mixed up.
